The HORIBA Scientific Segment is a world leader in the manufacture of instruments for analysis and research using optical spectroscopy and X-Ray technology. We are proud of our long history and one of our companies was established as long ago as 1819. We are experts in many fields including:-

Microscopic Analysis using Raman, X-Ray and Fluorescence techniques.

Elemental Analysis using X-Ray Fluorescence, Optical Emission Spectrometers such as ICP, Glow Discharge and Arc/Spark. We also have a range of instruments for measuring Sulfur in Oil, Carbon, Sulfur, Oxygen, Nitrogen and Hydrogen in metals and equipment to help our users to conform to the WEEE/RoHS legislation.

Gratings, both holographic and ruled, manufactured in one of the largest dedicated commercial clean rooms in the world. These are used in our large range of Monochromators and Spectrographs and equipment manufactured by other instrument companies on an OEM/Contract manufacture basis.

The pH meter was the first water quality product manufactured and we now supply both bench top and portable instruments to measure Conductivity, Dissolved Oxygen and Ions.

Our range of Particle Size Analyzers will measure the size of particles down to 0.001 μm with unmatched speed, accuracy and precision. We offer both laser diffraction based instruments and those using the dynamic light techniques.

Other equipment we offer includes Ellipsometers which can measure film thickness of less than 10nm, Palm and Fingerprint identification products for Forensic applications, Filters, Lasers, Chemical Standards and Light Measurement.
